HTC Droid Eris Overview by Cell2Get

Code Division Multiple Access, also known as CDMA, is a general term addressing a certain wireless interface based on modern and advanced technology. During October of 1998, this interface was originally introduced for commercial telecommunication applications. It wasn’t until the middle of 1995 Sprint released their first worldwide CDMA mobile equipment for consumers. Several years have passed and CDMA phones have spread into branches of various cell phone carriers such as Verizon, and have developed massive amounts of gear complying with the latest trend, intelligence as well as competition. The HTC Droid Eris is a clear evidence of ongoing CDMA development for the future.

Released on October of 2009, the Droid Eris is in fact produced strictly for CDMA users and is not compatible for the sim card applicant, GSM, whatsoever. Built for continuous trendiness, the Droid Eris has the natural ability to read several music, as well as video, formats such as MP3, eAAC+, WAV and WMA for music format type and MP4, H.263, H.264 and WMV file formats. This ability makes it much easier to insert media and gets rid of the need for consistent conversion for every single media file inserted in the phone memory. Even for the iPhone and iPod users, conversion of one’s own personal media must be converted into a compatible format for playback on iTunes.

HTC is a renowned company most reputable for their thirst for optimizing technology. During 2009 the highest and most common resolution for mobile handset cameras range from 1.5 to 3.2 megapixels, however for the Droid Eris a unique 5 megapixel camera is mounted allowing users to take 2560×1920 pixel photos. With that said, advanced features like auto focus and geo tagging come in handy for optimized photo shooting, in addition we can also take videos thanks to its motion picture capture ability. For the case of getting lost the Droid Eris is a backup plan for navigation using the built in GPS. Supporting A-GPS maps, the built in GPS has an advanced compass and allocation function with updated graphic drivers, this means the location, the destination and the compass directions (N, S, E, W) will synchronize with the user movements and attempt to match the exact spot.

In order to speed up GPS support, a 3G data service is required. It may run okay on a 2G or Edge based network but performance goes up by approximately 50% on a 3G network. Even until today the 3G network is commonly used, however it is an enhanced wireless manager dedicated only to 3rd generation smart phones which have the capability to use 3G advantages. In this day and age GSM users are exceeding CDMA users for several advantages such as being able to utilize the phone anywhere across the globe, whereas a CDMA phone will only react to non-sim card carriers. But hopefully we will see many different CDMA phones on the rise to keep their users satisfied and will see nothing less than exceptional.
