GPS Navigation
Features an embedded Global Positioning System (GPS) chip necessary for utilizing the E911 emergency location services where available and receiving audible and visual turn-by-turn driving directions, mapping your location, or conducting local searches direct from your handset.
Call Alert (with Text feature)
Send a repeating alert to let another Nextel Direct Connect subscriber know you are trying to reach them. With the new Text feature you can send pre-set text messages with a Call Alert to a subscriber with a Nextel Direct Connect capable Sprint phone.
Group Connect®
Communicate or coordinate activities with up to 20 other Nextel Direct Connect subscribers all at once - nationwide, quickly and easily. Create and manage groups dynamically on your device or online. Group Connect participants must also have a Nextel Direct Connect capable Sprint device with the Group Connect feature.
TalkgroupSM
For businesses that need instant, large group communication for dispatch and collaboration. Get the word out to groups of up to 200 people at once. All users must be within the same local market and in the same fleet.
International Direct ConnectSM
International Direct Connect Calling lets you instantly connect from the U.S. to users in other eligible countries including Canada and Mexico. In addition, International Direct Connect Roaming lets you make and receive push-to-talk calls while traveling in those countries.
Direct Talk(SM)
The all-digital off-network Direct Connect that works anywhere, anytime between compatible phones within a range of up to 6 miles (range will vary based on terrain and conditions). Direct Talk(SM) provides reliable back-up communications tool in times of emergency, network outage, or when traveling to remote areas not under Nextel coverage such as hiking, cruise vacations or inside buildings. Send a voice message to any email address anywhere using your Direct Connect button! NextMail lets you communicate with others via email on the go without typing. Use the “Downloads” menu to choose from hundreds of additional JAVA applications, games, ring tones, and wallpaper to personalize your phone. Phone-initiated purchases and downloads require a data plan.
